Profile - Hema Joshi

My mother, Mrs. Hemlata Joshi, is a retired Professor of English, an author, poetess and motivator. She has an M.A in English lauguage, minor in Sanskrit, and MPhil in "Modernization of English and Communication with respect to Working Women". As a teacher, she has touched the lives of 1000s of students, who can spot her in a crowd immediately and never fail to thank her for the education she blessed them with. Spear-heading many enthusiastic college drama workshops, innovative writing projects for students, indulging in badminton, table tennis shoulder-to-shoulder with her students, and much more, she has always been a source of inspiration for all around.

Besides her professional career, she has accomplished immense literary work in the philosophical and religious realms, apart from other writings. She has written and compered for Radio/TV programs. A voracious reader herself, a dynamic, captivating speaker with a melodious voice that draws rapt attention from audiences, she is a source of phenomenal knowledge in almost any aspect of life. She is also a wonderful singer.

Deeply grounded in philosophy, she has devoted her energies & services to Shri Akkalkot Swami Samarth, Yogoda Satsang Society and Shri Sai Baba. A Pandita in her own right (rare to be found amongst women) well-versed in performing Durga Saptashati Paath, havan, pooja, meditation, a Kriya Yogi, a Reiki Master, Omkar Sadhana practitioner and mentor conducting workshops.

An avid traveller, sometimes we like to joke that she has wheels on her feet, as she is constantly on the get-go, having undertaken many pleasant and arduous journeys/teerthyaatras in unusual circumstances, done only out of sheer will, tenacity and the spiritual seeking. All this multi-existence infuses her with exuberance and everlasting innocence that is to be experienced only by meeting her!
